Week 1 of Term 2 2020 on LOCKDOWN!

Week 1, Term 2!

~ By Isabella ~

School has started back! (Just not publically). Hopefully normal routines have started to come through for everyone. As for me, the pressure has been real I must say, but I am getting there. Today I posted to talk about what I had done on the first three days of this online school. Enjoy 😃

Wednesday 15th came around, first day of the term; I have a very bad memory, so I'll just go off what's there; I remember first, attending the class call to be reassured on tasks we're doing + our focus for the term. Just a big group discussion. I think after that I most likely went onto mathletics, or steps, just to check my rankings on those. I had also started the Maori Program, to help speak maori, around that day probably. I also, daily, study anything relating to singing or dance.

Thursday and friday, I was most likely doing the same, worrying about my steps and mathletics and making sure I excel in those too, as well as other work. So I'm not to behind. This new program has helped me a little bit, to be a little more in front, hard-working and self-motivated. Thank you! Here's some photos from what I succeeded in today!

Me on Covid-19 Lockdown... WHAT?!

Covid-19/Coronavirus

By Isabella!

Corona is a virus that broke out in December of 2019, starting in china, then since people weren't cautious at the time, it became international. Now people, worldwide, are living in their homes only, for the weeks that occur. A few weeks have past already, though. Over these few weeks I have done a few things really, which I shall get into.

One, is fitness. In public school, specially Gis Int, they really focus on sport, which I've never been a sporty person. So it's always out of my comfort zone, so at times it's a little interesting. But I don't mind. They push you very hard at school publically, so in the homeschool, I've tried to find both inspiration and motivation towards eating right and daily, physical activity. I have started to get used to the temporary pain you get in these workouts, to where I've started to love it. It makes me feel a little better, more calm. Though my heart pulse quickens easily. I also dance often, I'm very passionate.

Another, is no surprise, study. I've been teaching myself korean, as well as the maori classes I get given. I have done writing, i read at times, and have really put effort into my maths. Last year I was smart, believe me, but I lost a bit of my knowledge. So recently, I have focused in maths so I can make sure to get back on track. I like to sacrifice my nights to study also, whether I'm at the top or not, that's not my goal!

One thing I can say, is that I have only been outside the car park once, I had gone for a walk with my dad. It was the evening, and it was calming, I've gotten closer with family a little more through this lockdown. I have gotten used to being at home now, to where I don't want to leave anymore. But obviously it'll come back to reality soon. I don't have much photo's, but since I love photography, when I went for the walk I had taken a photo an edited it, I will insert it now, just below this. With a few more photo's I can find, thank you!

Term 1 2020 @ Gisint!

𝐊𝐢𝐰𝐚 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐎𝐧𝐞!

Happy late new year everyone. I am now back after the new year and have now started at Gisborne
Intermediate. Here's a reflection on my first term!

The first day I walked into the school, I was super nervous. Until the powhiri, I was hanging with my
friends from my past school, which is Te Hapara. I was hoping to be in one of my friends class, but
then the classes were announced, and I was gutted. I still knew some people though, and had started
to already make more friends. I was (and still am) a super shy person. With learning I don't have a vivid
memory. But I remember we went on two educational trips in the beginning of the term.

Then in the second week we got given an assigned writing task, to write about ancestry, specifically Kiwa.
We also started the online programmes, such as mathletics. We also were assigned a few more writing
tasks in those few weeks after that. We interacted more in Physical Education as well as inside.
We then had camp around week 8, which I loved camp, it was very enjoyable and fun! I grew
closer bonds there also.

When the end of the term came around, we were still stalling with the writing pieces (very true lol).
We were also in tech rotations, like all the other subjects in schools; Science, Music; pretty much the arts.
I haven't said enough on my blog posts in the past, but I'm such a big fan of music, and have my favourite
genres too. Can't wait for the rest of the year coming up, please stay safe in the situation we are in, but
I'll post more about that coming up after this post! Here's some inserted pics from term 1!

Wishes 🎉

My scratch coding!

Hello, today I made a little scratch code animation. I found it difficult because the coding was quite hard, even though I had the tutorials to help me. I found it easy to choose backdrops and sprites and all those things. Next time I want to plan more because when I first started I had a separate idea to the outcome that I'm about to show you but then it got to challenging to the point where I gave up and decided to think of another idea which was this idea :) I'll stop talking now, here's my scratch animation! Also, to make the triceratops move or have action, you have to press the letter A on your keyboard and this press to the key will change the colour of the triceratops and smoothly glide it to another spot in this here grid. Thank you for seeing my post, Bella!

My Animation!

We were learning about making Animations.
I found it easy to do the shapes, colours and textures.
I found it hard to duplicate the slides a billion times. Plus the part where you have to move it a teensy weensy bit.
I really enjoyed scrolling through the explore tool looking at all the textures that you could choose from.
Next time I need to work faster and not get distracted.

My Media Attribution Project!

We have been learning about different kinds of media. The media I like using to learn new information is the explore tool, which can make your life so much easier to apply images, websites and more to your slides or any other format to make it cooler! I enjoyed the fact that it was about animals and the wild life as I really like animals! I found it challenging to do my owl drawing but it worked out in the end. My digital learning object shows video collages, images and a website with facts about my option of an animal, which was an Owl/Snowy Owl. Next time I wouldn't change anything! Thank you for looking at my post! Here's my project!

All About Me!

Hi I’m Bella and I go to Te Hapara School. I am 10 years old. I have 2 younger brothers and a younger sister so I’m the oldest! My dad was born in Ruatoria, Mum was born in Wellington, Me, My younger brother and sister were born in Gisborne and my last younger brother was born in Auckland! I have 1 biological sibling and the youngest two are adopted. My Cultures include Maori, French, British, English and Spanish.

I enjoy writing diaries about my inspirations and my personal feelings and other concerns. I also enjoy studying Languages and learning to speak Korean, French and Spanish! I also, also enjoy studying music and watching vocal coaches because they give loads of information about the pharynx, larynx and more! Music is my passion. Listening to music, playing musical instruments, singing, You name it! I know how to play the ukulele and am very advanced at that. I want to learn piano, guitar and also more Maths. I want to learn more about decimals, percentages, squares, square roots and Fractions. My main goal for this year would probably be to walk out as a successful and smart person!

When I grow up I want to be a performer/singer just like Bts. I want to be very successful and I want to do something that can give a positive impact on many people that may struggle daily. Bts are my inspiration, they make me very happy!  Whenever I sing in front of people I just think of them and hope that I’m making them proud. They spread really positive messages about insecurity and Depression. They are also really humble and sincere people. They aren’t afraid of hate and showing their true emotions. Don’t be afraid of other people’s opinions and give everything a go! Stay true to yourself, Goodbye!
